Chadwick Newcombe is a third generation Calgarian. He holds degrees as a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Calgary, and was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 2001 after completing articles with a national firm.
Mr. Newcombe has a general civil advocacy practice with particular experience in commercial and employment litigation and alternative dispute resolution processes, ranging from wrongful dismissal cases to cases involving the purchase and sale of real property to shareholder disputes to breach of contract matters.
He has represented clients in proceedings at all levels of Alberta courts and the Supreme Court of Canada, and has assisted counsel in jurisdictions beyond Alberta in environmental and other proceedings.
Mr. Newcombe serves as an instructor/facilitator and skill evaluator for the Legal Education Society of Alberta’s CPLED course (which must be completed by all individuals seeking to practice law in Alberta), coaches one of the University of Calgary Faculty of Law’s competitive moot teams (a mock court proceeding) and assesses law students at the University of Calgary in intra-Faculty moots. He also serves as a member of the University of Calgary Student’s Union Review Board, and volunteers with Student Legal Assistance and other local organizations.
He is a member of the Calgary Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association.
